Ezra Furman - Day of the Dog on the Moon and the Arctic Monkeys on Rock 'n' Roll

Imagine Ryan Adams attempting to produce a Jonathan Richman like rock 'n' roll record with added sax and succeeding brilliantly. If that sounds like your cup of tea then check out the new album from Ezra Furman. Don't be put off by the rip roaring opener with the opening line "All the world is rising up like vomit, filling up my ugly little mouth" as songs like My Zero and Anything Can Happen are rock 'n' roll gold that Mr Adams would be proud of. Check it out via Spotify below and there is one other solo record and three more with the Harpoons available on Deezer and Spotify.

Back to rock 'n' roll and the Brit Awards were last week and the great British press were most interested in some old tax dodger represented by Kate Moss but our favorite tyke LA based rockers the Arctic Monkeys were the big winners on the night as they won best band and best album. Below is their acceptance speech for their 3rd success for best album with Alex Turner in full rock 'n' roll character explaining why rock 'n' roll will never die.

To find out why they are so special check out If You Found This Then Your'e Probably Too Late - A Best of the Rest of the Arctic Monkeys on the Moon. The post that sent the Moon into a whole new stratosphere.
