Moon Film Review: The Battle of the Sexes

Now you may not know this, but Your Cultural Correspondent (Film) hates, sorry that should be HATES, almost all sports. One glowing exception is tennis. It may be said to be Your Cultural Correspondent's favourite. Thus it was that they headed to the cinema to see 'The Battle of the Sexes'.

And, dear readers, how pleased they were that they had done so. For it was a superb film. Indeed, in what may perhaps be seen by The Moon Editor as too positive a review, Your Cultural Correspondent (Film) has to say that the film was faultless. The story was most interesting, the script very well written, and the acting consistently good. And Mr King came across as a most appealing person. So Your Cultural Correspondent's advice is this: if you're tempted, go. You won't be disappointed.

Something else you may not know is that Your Cultural Correspondent's Mother has, in her eighth decade, become something of a film buff and now not infrequently visits the cinema herself. The latest film she saw was 'Paddington 2'. And her review, surely worthy of The Moon itself, was simple: 'Just like the first film, the bear was the best one in it'. Dear Mummy.
